Grid-Risk Simulator

Grids win small and lose big. This simulator shows the losing side on purpose: what happens to your balance if price runs against the grid, level by level, with no take-profit saving you.

Your grid

The account the grid trades on.
Distance between one grid level and the next.
How deep the grid is allowed to go.
The first position's size, in standard lots.
1 = every level the same size. 2 = each level doubles the last (martingale-style) — watch the table explode.

How to read this table

The scenario is deliberately harsh and deliberately simple: price moves against the grid from the first entry, triggers every level, and runs one full spacing beyond the deepest level — with no take-profit, no hedge and no intervention. Each row shows the loss if the run stops at that depth. Formula for the loss at depth n: sum over every open level i of (lot at level i × distance in pips from that level's entry to the stopping price × $10 per pip per standard lot), where lot at level i = base lot × multiplieri and the distance is (n − i) spacings. Assumes a USD-quote pair; spreads, commissions, swap and margin calls are not modelled — in real life they make the outcome worse, not better.

Why this matters beyond grids: the same “stop first, size second” discipline is what the position-size calculator enforces. Read the reasoning in Position sizing for algo traders →

This simulator shows loss scenarios only. It never promises profits, and it cannot model your broker's margin-call behaviour. Educational tool, not financial advice.
